Cade

Cade is mastering Kindergarten. We recently met with his teacher and she went on and on about how well he's catching onto things. He gets to go to summer school because of his IEP and ACC condition. We are pleased and excited that he gets to keep learning for at least 3 more weeks out of the summer. And until he knows what summer school really means we will take any help we can get to keep on top of his learning. He's starting to pronounce-ate letters and words, just on the verge of actually reading. He can count by 5's, 10's, 20's, is learning to tell time now too. We couldn't be more proud of him.

Cade turned 5!

Cade turned 5 just two days after we moved so our house wasn't set up for a HUGE party of any sort. We managed to have some pizzas delivered, cake ordered and a fun Birthday with the cousins that live near us anyways. It was just what Cade wanted! He does keep asking if we have another party with his friends.

All the best in 2014!

Well Christmas time came and went and here I am a few weeks late posting holiday pics! The boys had a great time, opening presents, making cookies.  I think I enjoyed the time more than usual as I had a week off work and got to sleep in every day until 8:30. IT. WAS. HEAVEN!
Now I'm back to the grind, which is also ok because I really do like my job and the people I work with.
Here's a reflection on our holidays, hope yours were just as sweet. I just realized we didn't get a pic of the boys with Grandma, Sorry Grandma, we will do that very soon!

We've got a preschooler on our hands!

Cade started preschool today!  I can't believe it. He's grown up so fast. The morning started off well. We got up early made a good breakfast of eggs and fruit with carnation instant breakfast to boot. At his last appt the doc told us he was under weight at only 34 lbs. she suggested the carnation breakfast.
Of course we had a pre-school photo moment prior to leaving the house.
We arrived early to go play on the playground to get acclimated to the school. When the bell rang we made our way to the classroom.
There sat on a colorful rug were 13 other young, eager minds. Cade was reluctant to join in and play with the toys they had out. I sat on the rug with another nervous mommy, trying to get Cade comfortable. After 10 min I decided I needed to go. It would never get easier on him if I were to stay any longer. The teacher knew the drill and picked him up carrying him away. I think she's had to do this before, lol. I didn't hear him cry but I didn't have the heart to turn back and look. As tears came to me, I reminded myself how blessed we are that Cade got into this program, and what a great opportunity it was for him. Then I smiled...

Cade is 4

Well technically not until the 12th, but we celebrated on Saturday.
We had a Toy Story/Buzz Lightyear party and he loved it.
I can't believe my lil boy is 4.
I never understood other mom's getting sad over their children growing up,
but this birthday really hit me.
I was an emotional wreck.
He was my first baby, my first everything,
and suddenly he doesn't need me so much.
He so grown up he can handle it on his own.
And suddenly I'm wrapped up with a newborn also.
Where has the time gone??

someone's excited for their party!!

Garris got all dressed up for the par-tay!

make a wish!
As I think back over the past 4 years, I'm feel so relieved.
I sometimes can't even believe Cade has ACC (agensis of the corpus callosum)
He seems so unaffected by this.
How blessed we truly are.
Sure there may be times where there will be bumps in the road
But we are just so relieved that he has led a very happy and "normal" lil man life.
We are excited for him to start preschool in the fall and learn the ins and outs of school schedules,
and to make new friends too.  He's such a shy, caring, loveable and thoughtful lil boy,
we couldn't have asked for a better person to be in our lives.
He has taught us so much and our lives would not be complete without him!
XO Cade we love you!
