So much to be thankful for......

Every once in a while I become enthralled with the:
http://scenicbeauty.tripod.com/AngelsAroundTheWorld.html
Catching up on all the families with children with ACC and other complications. Discovering new memebers to this club. I just counted and there are now 44 different families listed on the site who have blogs/websites to share about their journeys.  Everyone's stories are very different but also much the same. It feels comforting and encouraging to read each other's stories, as if you are not alone in the uncertainty that ACC brings.  It does sadden me that our club is growing...I know for certain there were not 44 members when we were first introduced to ACC.
It brings tears to my eyes as I think about how blessed we are with Cade and how mild he has been affected by his ACC. Sure we had some delays in the beginning (crawling, walking) but he is 100% caught up. He is a happy, super cute, funny lil boy. And while my worries of a "normal" life for him were once very heavy on my mind those worries have somewhat disappeared now.
He runs, skips, gallops like a horse, speaks in full sentences. He told me last night " I do not want rice because its hot." He can count to 18, knows a good portion of his ABC's, knows his colors, can follow directions, can tell us what he wants and needs, can sing "happy birthday to you"....He's simply brilliant! And that brings such joy to my heart that I cry with happiness that we had such tremendous help and support with the numerous therapists and programs that have guided us through these past 2.5 years of Cade's life. I no longer feel so uncertain for what his future will hold because I know there will always be great resources for us to help him if need be.
I can't believe that my baby is 2.5 and doing so well. We couldn't be happier with the progress of our amazing lil' boy. Who once the doctors told us they didn't know what to expect for his life.  Sometimes complications can be so severe that they can't walk or talk or lead a "normal" life. But here we are 2.5 years later leading very "normal" lives with the joy of our lives~Cader-tot.

We wish everyone a very happy holidays with safe travels!
Cheers,
The Beauprez Family~

  1. I completely relate to you! Our, Violet is doing so well like your son, Cade. The doctors prepared us for the worst; and we prepared for her to die. And now, almost 2 years later, she is so brilliant that it brings me to tears. While I am so happy for our family, other families affected with ACC weigh heavy on my heart.

    Merry Christmas!!!
