How to dress up any ol' rug by painting it!

I decided I was over my plan brown throw rug by our back door. It was okay but just drab. I decided to use some painters tape to make some stripes and then paint it. As I began I realized it was going to soak up a bunch of my acrylic paint. I had enough to make one stripe butter cream, and the other slate gray.

ta-dah, much better!

I just used an old wide foam brush to do this. I wasn't entirely worried about getting the paint into each woven  groove bc it looks more rustic this way. Super easy, took me about 10 minutes.
